Once you encounter the mountain gorillas you are only allowed upto 1 hr maximum time with them.

Gorilla Permits are always in limited supply despite the high demand. Reason being only 8 tourists are allowed to track a gorilla family per day and this is mainly for conservation reasons . A Gorilla Permit for Foreign Nationals costs $800 . Foreign Residents in Uganda is $700. For East African Citizens the cost is Ugx. 250,000.
